OCGS Crowned Putting Champions
[Mon 21 June 04]
For those of you that worried that you might never see the OCGS lift any silverware I am pleased to tell you that at Royal Wimbledon GC last night the OCGS team won the old boys putting competition.

Teams such as Harrow, Rugby, Epsom and Dulwich fell in our wake. We were led from the top by Fergie who on the way to a team leading 11 points claimed the scalp of the recently crowned Surrey Amateur Champion. Tony Rogers was fresh back from 5 days hard training in Italy and, looking extremely tanned, piled in with a very useful 10 points followed by the silky smooth super sub Sweetland who on this form should probably have been putting for his mentor, Faldo, at the US Open.

On the way we qualified with the help of Luke and “Rama” so a real team effort. Thank you to everyone who played and putted so well. Congratulations to John Brazell on some excellent team selecting. (AJW)
